The ending of “Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King” brings an intense conclusion to the battle between Conrad and Asta, as they clash over the fate of the Clover Kingdom. Directed by Ayataka Tanemura, the film premiered on June 16, 2023, on Netflix, based on the manga by Yuuki Tabata. With a runtime of 113 minutes, the movie features a talented voice cast including Gakuto Kajiwara, Toshihiko Seki, Fumiya Takahashi, and Miyuki Sawashiro, among others.
The movie begins with the Clover Kingdom celebrating the Triumph and witnessing a fierce competition among wizards vying to become the next Wizard King. However, the festivities are abruptly interrupted when Conrad appears, launching a devastating attack on the kingdom and summoning three former Wizard Kings: Princia Funnybunny, Jester Garandaros, and Edward Avalaché. These former kings, who share Conrad’s destructive ideals, were resurrected using the Imperial Sword and possessed incredible power.
Princia, Jester, and Edward, who were respectively the 11th, 16th, and 20th Wizard Kings, were stripped of their titles due to their rebellious beliefs. Conrad revived them to assist him in creating a world free from sorrow and injustice. Empowered by the Imperial Sword, which absorbed magic from the people of the Clover Kingdom, the three kings initially seemed unbeatable. However, they faced fierce opposition from determined and powerful wizards who fought relentlessly to protect their land and its inhabitants.
Mereoleona, a formidable opponent, clashed with Princia, eventually overpowering her Legion Magic. Yuno’s continuous attacks broke through Jester’s Barrier Magic, leading to his defeat. And with the combined efforts of all the wizards and Noelle’s final blow, Edward’s seemingly impenetrable Ice Wedge Magic was finally overcome.
Meanwhile, Asta engaged in an epic battle against Conrad above the town of Hage. The fight extended beyond magical prowess, as the clash of ideologies between the two intensified. As time passed, both Asta and Conrad tapped into new levels of power to gain an advantage. When Asta shattered the Imperial Sword, the three former kings vanished. However, Conrad remained resolute in his mission to destroy the Clover Kingdom.
Conrad, determined to fulfill his destructive objective, began casting spells that would bring about the kingdom’s ruin. However, Asta, aided by Elsdocia, a creation of the first Wizard King Lumiere, which contained the collective power, wisdom, and a fragment of the soul of every Wizard King, ultimately triumphed. With the support of his comrades’ abilities, Asta successfully thwarted Conrad’s plans, leading to his defeat. In the end, Conrad perished, finding peace as he reunited with his associates.
